We started because
too many bright kids
were falling through the cracks
Young Tutors was founded by university students and recent graduates in Calgary who saw something troubling: smart kids were struggling not because they could not learn, but because classrooms were not built for how they learn.
Our Approach
The problems were everywhere — overcrowded classrooms where teachers had 30+ students to manage, one-size-fits-all instruction that left some kids bored and others lost, and parents who desperately wanted to help but did not know how to bridge the gap.

Young Tutors is not a tutoring factory. We are a small, carefully vetted team. Every student gets one dedicated tutor who takes the time to understand how they think, what motivates them, and what is actually getting in the way of their success.

OUR TUTORS
Relatable, and sharp
We look to hire university-age tutors for a reason: they remember the same classes your child is taking. They know which teachers are tough graders, which units trip students up, and how the current curriculum actually works — not how it worked ten years ago.

But more importantly, they connect with students differently. A 22-year-old engineering student is not an authority figure — they are someone who just figured this out themselves and remembers what it felt like to be stuck. That relatability is the advantage in one-on-one tutoring, not a compromise.
Specialized Learning Support
Our tutors are experienced in supporting students with Specific Learning Disorders, ADHD, Giftedness, and other diverse learning profiles, as well as students with Individualized Program Plans (IPPs). Sessions are tailored to meet each learner’s unique strengths, needs, and goals.
